Sure you can. Just wear noseplugs if you're worried.

NEVER! I don't like swimming so it isn't a hardship.

don't like swimming

BUT WHY!? ...Okay, you don't have to like anything you don't want to like, but swimming is so pleasant and relaxing...

:O

OH NO YOU FOUND THE LOOPHOLE. But for real if you're not a strong swimmer then you shouldn't be swimming anywhere but the shallow end of a public pool.

I burn realllllllyyy easily. Like...I've had to go to the doctor for sunburns.

Plus I can't stand the aftermath. Walking around in wet clothes. Or chlorine in your hair if in a pool. Blech.

Walking around in wet clothes

But that is why you bring a towel and a dry shirt and things.

I burn realllllllyyy easily

Ugh. I feel that one. That is the lamest. My lily-white redhead genes don't usually take to being out in the sun much either. I have to really work up to it.

Yeah, we had a death like that in MN this summer. Of course, after everyone was freaked out, they did say the kid had a previous head injury that made him a little more susceptible to getting sick but all the doctors the news interviewed reminded everyone the risk is the same in all bodies of water (which is that it is rare).

I used a nose plug for the first time this year when swimming in the lake but I'm a paranoid sort.

They said that kid died of meningitis or something. It wasn't a brain-eating amoeba after all.
