Not too new, but about a week ago a busker almost got (intentionally) knocked over by a kid, whose parents were laughing. The "controversy" came in because he said "some people should really use a condom."

Did you hear about how Bernie Sanders' rally in Seattle was taken over by two Black Lives Matter activists? They literally went up on the stage, shoved him over, took the microphone and refused to leave. Bernie waited for them for like twenty minutes, let them do their thing, and tried to get the microphone back but they still wouldn't let him. So he had to leave...

Yeah, I've been watching the coverage on Chris Hayes' show. The representative for the Black Lives Matter sort of had be the first time I saw her but she was on again and lost all credibility with me.

I had heard a rumor that the women who went on stage were not actually affiliated with Black Lives Matter, even nice conspiracy theories about them being hired by other candidates to make Bernie look bad. Really hoping that is the case, otherwise, what the fuck is the point of the Black Lives Matter movement at all? what are they doing?

It was a Social Security & Medicare rally that Bernie happened to be speaking at, not a Bernie Sanders rally.

Also, IMO, the problem was more with the execution on the part of the BLM activists than anything else. It's not wrong in itself.

Going up to a rally that's unrelated, shoving an old guy, stealing the microphone to hijack the event and forcing an audience who is there for a different purpose to listen to you and generally be obnoxious, and end up ruining the entire rally... how is that not wrong?

Hisashi Iwakuma threw a no-hitter vs. the Orioles today. The last 3 no-hitters in the American League have all been by the Mariners; in that time, the National League has had 13.

On the one hand, I'm not a Mariners fan; they're our division rival. On the other hand, the O's are much closer to my Angels in the wildcard race so the loss helps them. And no-hitters are cool. Big congrats to Iwakuma.

Talking of baseball, I've been thinking about starting to follow my minor league team, and the worst of the August heat has broken, but I don't have any money, so I guess I won't really.

As a Rakuten Eagles fan who really should be paying more attention to MLB, at least to teams that have our ex-guys in it (so at least Ma-kun and Iwakuma-san's teams), I'm really happy to hear that!

My second nephew was born on the 4th at 5pm, a healthy 6lbs 4oz. He is a tiny thing, but very strong. My sister in law says he looks like me and I somewhat agree.

Yeah, we had a death like that in MN this summer. Of course, after everyone was freaked out, they did say the kid had a previous head injury that made him a little more susceptible to getting sick but all the doctors the news interviewed reminded everyone the risk is the same in all bodies of water (which is that it is rare).

I used a nose plug for the first time this year when swimming in the lake but I'm a paranoid sort.
