There are more dudes than we think, and since everyone is assumed to be female, they fly under the radar a lot. Both unintentionally and intentionally

Same with people from the US vs. people not from the US, white people vs. non white people

The anime threads are from the same 3 or 4 posters each time

My thought process is that most of the dudes who post here are, one way or another, pretty deeply uncomfortable with what you might call hegemonic masculinity

And so there's a certain... I'm not sure the word - comfort? freedom? relief? - in being detached from those structures

I suspect there are teenage lurkers who even out the age spread somewhat (because that's what I did when I was younger), but F!S still skews older.

I assumed the anon who commented on a Sad Puppies related secret about message fiction, and said she was an SFF author who happened to be conservative, was a named user.

I think dethtoll is probably an absolute sweetheart in real life. I think he's probably one of those kind, thoughtful and quite people that everyone else in the world pisses all over.

I think he comes here to be... what he is here as a way to cope and let out the frustration and hate a rage that always builds within that type of person when they are treat the way that type of person is always treat.
