How did you fuck up today?

I'm starting law school in two weeks, so I decided to start doing the reading for my first classes. I had two books: One was the textbooks, and one was supplementary materials. I accidentally picked up supplementary materials and I spent hours trying to decipher it, on the verge of tears. It was pure legalese with no explanation.

I'm not sure if I'm smarter than I thought or stupider than I thought.

I was venting with my friends about my frustrating conversations with my moom and I got the stupid as fuck idea to confront her about it. It turned out a disaster because naturally I ended up being accusatory and making myself sound crazy.

And now my mom is convinced even more that the computer/internet is the source of all my emotional issues and for my health I should stop using it for a long while.(There was a period when I had an 'intervention' forced on me and the entire computer was confiscated. During that time, my behavior was blamed on me watching Criminal Minds)

I need more self control.

I mean, if you're addicted to the internet, it's a symptom, not a cause. But continuing that addiction is only hurting you.

Sounds like it's time to move the fuck out of there. If you're employed, find a way to take the bus. Find a room mate. Do something.

You don't have to be stuck in an abusive situation.

Wooowww, that could be me talking about interacting with my partner who I think is being abusive to me. How did I fuck up today? I let my feelings show. I am obviously paranoid, bitter and crazy.

So much sympathy, anon. I don't think you need to change, you need to survive and get out of there. Stay strong. Work on feeling okay about yourself like I am. You're a work in progress but you are not the issue. If you can't take the shit any more, vent at them, but I doubt you'll make much headway about them at the moment, try to vent to others instead, and yeah, survive and work on eventually leaving.

Yesterday, I was one minute late to pick up a phone call from a prospective employer. (I was going to let in a repairman, and the dog bit him, so I was kind of distracted.) Returning the call sent me to a phone tree with no way out, and they never called back. Oh well.

I ordered new frames/lenses two weeks ago because I can't see shit, and I forked over the $600 today and it turns out I still can't see shit. I didn't really understand that I'll never see clearly even with glasses ever again until just now and I feel bad for wasting money because I can still see the pretty much the same (like two feet in front of me with big font fairly clearly! yay!) from my prior prescription.

I have a menial job that I'm overqualified for, except because I'm so bored by it I'm acting unqualified.

I wasted a day, didn't work on my dissertation that's due in two weeks. I literally played Pokemon instead. Fuuuuuuck.

Oh god that was my major downfall on every examination I ever took. I could give the best and deepest goddamned answer... if I managed to read the question fully and carefully. Self, why?

Not today, but I totally fucked up the other day by burning a whole batch of jam because I went to check my email for three minutes. That was a giant piss off.

Walked around town with my fly open. Don't think anyone noticed though.

That's about it, unless you count waffling on which college I should apply to for distance learning, or whether to bother, but that's been an all-month thing.

I fucked up by being too good at my job, so I had to stay behind and missed my early train and had to wait for 40 minutes for the next one to come.

I was brushing my teeth, and there was a teeny spider on the sink, and I tried to gently swipe him somewhere else to get him out of the way so I didn't smoosh him on accident and HE ENDED UP IN THE TOILET! I feel so bad now I didn't want to do that! I tried to get him to climb on the toilet brush, but the best I could do was get him out of the water. I don't think I can get him out of there without smooshing him which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place. I hope he can get out of there on his own. I'M SORRY TEENY SPIDER! I'm going to have to go down stairs if I have to pee now.

This should not be bothering me so much. I usually just kill spiders so the cats don't find an eat them, but they can't get into my upstairs bathroom without me, so I usually just ignore those ones. I TRIED TO BE NICE FOR ONCE AND IT ALL WENT TERRIBLY WRONG!!!!

I actually didn't fuck up that bad today! other than snoozing for a couple hours, like usual.

I made a very minor and very easily fixable mistake at work, and my supervisor corrected me loudly and imperiously. But she's kinda like that, and she goes on power trips. Eh.
