I wouldn't "call them out" but I might remind them that they had said they were going to quit privately, in a non-confrontational manner. Something along the lines of, "Oh, you're still playing that? I thought you said you were quitting."

I mean... ultimately it's their decision but I might want an explanation for why they'd tell me one thing and then do another.
