online: male or female depending on the context. i guess i just fade into the background, gender-wise.

Online: male, hilariously consistently, even by people who I've corrected in the past.

Offline cis female or trans male who can't pass for shit. Online: The only time I've ever noticed anyone making an assumption is when I'm feeling grumpy and in no mood to suffer fools. Then I get IDed as a douchey dude.

Offline, def female, though I got mistaken for a guy once or twice when I had short hair.

Online, I'm usually anon so it's a little hard to tell. I think I present kinda neutrally though my tone's soft. I've had a couple people call me a dude and I never bothered to correct them. My interests are more masculine too.

Mostly female. But that's for convenience sake because I really look like one. I feel no connection to the female gender.

Online, people assume I'm whatever the majority is

Maybe I'm durr but I thought gender was man/woman not male/female considering animals can be male/female?

Anyway, I'm a cis woman. Female.

But online, I generally just go with the majority - in a majority woman space I'm a woman. In one with mostly men I'm a dude.

I think most people realize I'm female, but sometimes people think I'm male just because of the "phil" in my username.

I don't think anyone has ever assumed I was male offline...

As for online, I believe the only time that's happened was when I was gaming online (way, way back); I didn't use a mic or anything, and sometimes my username was either gender neutral or sounded masculine and people assumed I was a guy unless I said otherwise.

I don't think anyone here has ever thought I was male. (I did once mistakenly comment on a thread for guys and I remember one anon being all “What?!" before I realized what I'd done and could tell them that I'm just an idiot.)

Although once or twice I've been mistaken for a girl from behind.

In person, male. Online, female. On the phone, it varies, but there's a tendency towards female if they don't know my name.

Offline, female. Online, usually female, although on an Animal Crossing forum I used to frequent (with a different username) I'd get mistaken for a dude all the time. It was kind of a running gag.

Also, one time I was cosplaying a dude and the guy at the hotel called me "sir". That was cool.

Online, usually female, though I've been occasionally mistaken for a guy in more male-dominated spaces.

I'm pretty sure most people think of me as female, both on and offline. I do sometimes get mistaken for a boy if I'm wearing exceptionally shapeless sweaters, but that's mostly because I look like a hobbit and/or Harry Potter from a distance.
