He's a great character. At first he's hilarious, but maybe a bit one-note. Then you find out what he's done and suddenly he becomes less of a caricature, more human and dark. Finally, in the books at least, the trio meets him at St Mungo's and on the surface it's funny again, but it's really quite bleak. I was disappointed they didn't go to the hospital in the movie version, I would have loved to have seen this moment (and Neville's parents).

Yes! Out of everything from the books that didn't make it to the screen, this exclusion was on the short list for what disappointed me the most for some reason. I mean, I totally get why they left it out since it's not like it was super important to the plot, but I would have loved to see it.
