All I could think while watching this short is how stupid and annoying it is that Pixar had to gender the umbrellas. They are objects, [not] people. There was no reason to give thema gender. Same with the Wall-E robots and the Lava mountains.

(Plus I kinda suspect they do it to avoid people interpreting gender neutral objects as two men or because they believe people won't connect with the story unless it's a male/female one, and I can't decide which one annoys me the most.)
