Re: Are you fat?

At 5'5" and between 270~290 lb? Yes. I'm working on it, though; my issue is that I comfort-eat/stess-eat, so I really need to work on stopping that.

Plus I have really bad asthma, so I need to find something I can do exercise-wise without triggering it. Swimming, which a lot of people recommend, doesn't work for me, unfortunately, since I freak out about not breathing. I did use to use the elliptical, but I've gotten sick recently, which has made my breathing issue even worse, but I'm hoping that I'll be over it soon, as I got a pair of roller blades that I was hoping to use this summer.

Just walking is great exercise. You don't have to speed walk or do anything drastic, just a walk around the neighborhood for maybe 15-20 minutes is a good start and you can build up your time as your endurance increases. It's also a really good way to manage stress.

As an emotional eater, I've had a lot of help with mindfulness/meditation that has helped me to focus on why I eat. Sometimes it's better just to let the emotion and/or stress come and ride it out, rather than try to quench the feeling with food. Also, when it comes to health, I'm a big believer in good routines and habits. Once healthy eating becomes a habit, it'll get easier. So focus on what you can eat rather than what you can't.

In general, I've noticed that by being kinder to myself has helped a lot and I'm much more at ease in my own head now. So be kind to yourself.

You'll get there, just keep going one step at a time! :)
