I tend to give a pass on that because drunk is hard to write. This happens all the time in TV and movies and certainly 90% of the writing staff has been drunk at some point. Since actual drunk behavior is so random and writers need to move the plot forward, it's hard to do effectively.

There was a scene by adult professionals on Arrow where Laurel was surprised to find that her dad's drink was non-alcoholic. Her line:

"Just cola? What, did the bartender forget the scotch this time?"

I nearly put my fist through the screen.
