There's a children's rhyme which exists as two forms in the UK and in America with one crucial difference. I once read a fic set in a British fandom in Britain that used the wrong version of the rhyme. It wouldn't have bothered me but the rest of the fic was trying so hard to be uber British in that American-teenager-writing-Sherlock-fic way. It just seemed really really lazy.
