Sorry but...what did you expect honestly?

I mean saying all women are awful is not cool.

But joking about getting rid of an entire gender is...not really a good joke. If some guy joked about getting rid of all women or some group i'm a part of, I'd take it pretty damn personally too.

Yeah, I agree. It's a shitty joke. But we tend to make shitty, non-socially aware jokes when we're twelve. The correct response is to explain to the child why it's wrong and answer any questions they might have, not give the kid an epic scolding intended to somehow counter misandry with misogyny.

Anon was TWELVE. When you're that young, you're not making those types of comments because you've given the subject a lot of thought, you're just cracking a joke and probably parroting what you've heard other adults say. The appropriate response to that is a gentle, brief explanation that this isn't a nice thing to say even as a joke, NOT an hour long lecture about misandry and how awful women are.

It's one thing to take a remark like that personally, but if you don't consider the context and realize that you're talking to an ignorant kid and not a raving man-hating feminazi, then that's on you, not the kid.
