I think in that case it's not bad to bring something like that up, but what I hate is the cutesy twee way the reblogger did it. Just say flat-out what he did without any mockery of the OP's word choices. Or implied mockery of the fact that OP didn't know something an actor did 10/20 years ago.

30 years ago, even.

This. You can certainly call attention to the horrible things a celebrity did without deliberately pissing on someone's parade. The fan may not know about what happened, but the way the person on tumblr did it seeks to shame the fan anyway... how is that helpful? Making people feel bad for stuff they didn't know about? There are ways to give people a heads up without making them feel like they're purposefully condoning sexual assault and rape.

+100. Can't agree enough with you.

Agreed. Actually it would have been better to contact the OP privately and inform them instead of making a mockery of OP for others to reblog and bandwagon hate and belittle the OP.

I notice SJW are less concerned with informing people who might be ignorant to certain issues, and more keen on shaming them and encouraging others to shame them as well.

I could easily see a group of people harassing the OP accusing them of being a rape apologist whether or not the OP knew about those events or not. Might sound overdramatic, but unfortunately I've seen worst done for less.
