That's not a totally unreasonable attitude to have. Meeting actors in person has sometimes been a rude awakening for me on various levels and even lessened my enjoyment of said show for a long while afterward. Sometimes it's been great though, but ultimately it makes me hyper aware of how much of it is about business and less about fun.

Sometimes it's good to just enjoy the aspects you like and ignore the rest.

I think conventions are a big problem for that, they encourage confusing an actor and character, and charge a lot of money for it.

So the actor is at work, and being paid well to talk to fans and have photos etc, but some fans, not all, will take it all seriously and not for the paid performance that it is.
