That's a common enough trouble, OP! Though I think the second season was excellent because of the subject matter, it also had such a vastly different feel to it that I got whiplash.

I did not at all expect it to go in that direction, and since I started the series because it was a fun, feel good anime with fanservice it was an adjustment.
