How so?

I mean, sometimes people do them in ways that are homophobic/transphobic/sexist...but you could just as easily write a transphobic werewolf AU, or sexist kidfic. Doesn't mean there's "something wrong with werewolf AUs" or "something wrong with kidfic", it means there's something wrong with transphobia, homophobia, and sexism.
