Seems like one of those fandoms I'd read AU fic and just refer to a wiki for. That's how I read Teen Wolf fics. Never seen a single episode, but with the info fandom provides, I can generally make my way through AU fics easily.

Hannibal fanfic is, for some reason, incredibly disappointing. With Teen Wolf, I get far more satisfaction from reading the fic than actually watching the show (which is really quite terrible), whereas Hannibal is such a strange beast and relies as heavily on visuals as it does writing and acting. Fanfic just can't quite live up to it, IMO. Also, the will-they-won't-they aspect of Hannibal and Will's relationship is part of the allure and I think paying it off just doesn't work, which is probably one of the reasons the fic doesn't do it for me. Just my two cents :)
