I can't stand shows that have to have a bigger, badder evil each season. I was fine with it for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I think because it ended at Season 7 (8).

But it was one of the things that made me stop watching Supernatural. It just gets so stupid with each MORE EVIL MONSTER!

I agree, especially when there's a point where there isn't something bigger and badder, and in trying to make one, the big-bad ends up being very poor indeed. I mean, what can you do that's worse than the devil?

At some point I think they just have a wheel with evil sounding names.

This season they are fighting the *spins wheel* DARK *spins wheel* VOID *spins wheel* DEMISE!

Yeah I agree on this one. It's one of the things that always made me laugh with DBZ as well because there was always a BIGGER THREAT. Sometimes a show can carry it off and make it work, but most of the time it's just silly instead.

I actually liked the premise of the whole 'Leviathan' primordial evil kind of thing because it's something I've seen in other settings and I like it, but the execution was sloppy and they never felt like a threat so I got bored.

I think Supernatural really suffered from this.

It's why it should've ended at S5. Because Death is introduced as this incredibly scary entity. You've got the Devil, you've got the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. Where do you even GO after that?

I even heard that they've killed Death. Which, what the hell? Does nobody die in the SPN world anymore? That makes no sense.

I hear ya on the "bigger, badder" thing - it's not just a problem in TV shows, but also in movies. Always trying to up the ante.

However, in the category of little things about SPN that make me suspend my disbelief: Sam Winchester's hair. No way, no how, can he impersonate an FBI officer, or any kind of law enforcement officer except an undercover one, with that hair. I know. In a show about monsters, and angels, and death, it's a little thing. But boy, does that hair bug me.
