(Anonymous) 2015-09-05 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)It's weird because I usually hate these kinds of American sitcoms. Like I couldn't even get through an episode of HIMYM, and Two and a Half Men had its moments but become unbearable when Charlie left. Lots of others as well I just never got.
Don't ask me what it is that makes Friends different and something I can always watch when there's nothing else on (usually because it's ALWAYS on somewhere, but no one forces you to watch it...unless you got some shitty friends/family, in which case sorry). I would never say it's the funniest show ever (Hell, no), or that EVERY joke is a winner (definitely not) but I guess the best word I can use to describe it would be...safe? Like, cosy? Again, not sure why.
But yeah, maybe it is just the nostalgia factor. I don't think there's anything wrong with that though so long as you acknowledge it's not perfect and get why others don't like it. Which I do. /shrug.
