I still like it. Just feel like the thread needs at least one pro-Friends comment. :P

It's weird because I usually hate these kinds of American sitcoms. Like I couldn't even get through an episode of HIMYM, and Two and a Half Men had its moments but become unbearable when Charlie left. Lots of others as well I just never got.

Don't ask me what it is that makes Friends different and something I can always watch when there's nothing else on (usually because it's ALWAYS on somewhere, but no one forces you to watch it...unless you got some shitty friends/family, in which case sorry). I would never say it's the funniest show ever (Hell, no), or that EVERY joke is a winner (definitely not) but I guess the best word I can use to describe it would be...safe? Like, cosy? Again, not sure why.

But yeah, maybe it is just the nostalgia factor. I don't think there's anything wrong with that though so long as you acknowledge it's not perfect and get why others don't like it. Which I do. /shrug.

I'm with you, anon, I recently did a research of Friends and was surprised at how much I still loved it. But no hate for people who don't like it!

IA with you, anon, I still really really love FRIENDS and I really don't like American sitcoms at all. And like you, I couldn't get through a single episode of HIMYM, I got so much second-hand embarassment at how hard it tried to be funny.
