Are you driving on all-seasons? Because appropriate winter tires really make a difference.

I prefer a small car myself. My current car is a Honda Fit, which replaced a great little 96 Civic hatchback. Both have been very goor in winter weather-- here in Maritime Canada you see an awful lot of hatchbacks, particularly Hondas, and we get an awful lot of winter. So again I say, whatever you end up getting, make sure you get good winter tires.

And consider a Honda, because they are fun and reliable and friendly!
