I might not have the right to an opinion on this since I don't even read comic books but just going by the movies I like both Tony and Steve as characters. I have always hated, with a vehement passion, when two hero characters are pit against each other. Just like with Superman vs Batman. It just seems like those stupid arguments little boys get into about 'my fav is better than your fav' and I hate it. Especially when it gets to be grown adults getting into heated arguments about every single detail and it's just pathetic.

I kinda get why people are like that, but I just hate the shit storms. It brings fandom against fandom and someone is always gonna end up on the losing side. For those who like both the characters pit against each other it's just a huge headache.

THIS. I totally agree with you here, and not just because I love them both and don't want to see them not be friends. (Sure, i ship Steve/Tony. But not *nearly* as much as I ship Steve/Bucky and Tony/Rhodey or Tony/Pepper.)

Seeing, also, that the fate of the world (and possibly other worlds) is in their hands...they have too much power to be indulging in personal emotions, so I really hope they won't be pitted against each other for too long. Whatever the conflict, they have to recognize that finding a compromising path, even if it's the lesser of two evils, and fighting together to make it so, is the best thing they can do. Together.

Good words anon. My enthusiasm is limited because of this but didn't know how to articulate it.

I'd rather see heroes being awesome and working together against villains as opposed to their personal conflicts with each other, but maybe that's me being simpleminded. IDK. It bugs me too.
