Rather than do a permanent location (which no one would agree to - such a built in home-field advantage for a team (/home continent. If it's always in the same European country it's easier for other European fans to attend and puts fans in farther away countries at a disadvantage)), I think they should take advantage of resources already within the country rather than build something new. I know that they got some deserved shit for it, but I liked the scaled-down stadiums of the WWC this year. I'd rather they use what's already been built in a location than erect something brand new for the grandeur of a tournament that lasts a month.

To be fair that can be problematic, because it means that you're limited to places that either (A) have hosted the WC before or (B) are rich and big enough to just have a ton of huge stadiums lying around.

and maybe it would be for the best to limit it to those places, but it would be very politically difficult
