The first time I played it, I actually hadn't realised that the other character wasn't an AI, so I having all these emotions about that poor "bot" losing their scarf ("Why didn't you follow me—NOOOOOOO!"), thinking there was a secret minigame by beeping at it ("Ding." "Da-ding?" "dingDINGdingdingdingdingDIAgn :D ♥♥"), falling off an icy ledge and looking up at the dinging patient fucker way up there that has no choice but to follow me back down. And yet, this same character still waited for me at the end, even coming out to meet me as we faded to white.
And then I read about the game and realised man I must have grinded that dude's nerves!
Then there was the player I met up with while trying to get all the achievements. I forgot to switch off the wi-fi, and I was in the level that requires you to set off various ribbons to climb a bridge in a particular way, so I was a bit tense about this new person about to ruin EVERYTHING. Turns out this dude just walks up to me, sets off the last ribbon in just the right way, and I completely understood that they were just like me. An achievement whore :') That guy was the best. We did EVERYTHING.
tl;dr i liked this game for the multi.
Maybe you should look for players to go online with you at the same time? I'd be up for that at least, if just to play the game again.
