I agree - I cringed when I saw that scene. Sure, there's no blood and we don't get to see anyone killed outright - doubtless to make it more palatable to the audience - but if one stops to think about it for just second, those are children killing children.

The game is Star Control 2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Control_2). It is made of awesome and win, and if you decide to play it you won't regret it. I promise. :D

And if you're not really the adventure gaming kind, you can always go through zarla's Screencap Adventure (http://zarla.livejournal.com/192372.html) of it where she screencaps all the game dialogue.

And yes, the VUX are very, very kickass. I'd tell you why, but it would spoil it for you.

Thank you! See, this also bugs me about fandom. If it was 'the actor is attractive' that's one thing. The actor himself is, while not my type, good-looking.

But, it's 'the character...i.e. the one-note brain-eating sociopath, is teh sex.' That's the sentiment that makes me afraid for the show, and makes me want to scream 'get help' at people.
