Moe is not the construct of a stereotypical cute girl or a series with cute girls. It APPLIES to that, hence "she's moe", "moe series", etc. but the definition of moe is "the feeling that makes you squee". Therefore, it can and does apply to boys too.

Moetan is not "moe character". That's moekko. Moetan is the series on the secret.

Father Mulcahy really is everything a priest should be. Except the hotness, because then, as previously mentioned, guilty feelings. I'm lucky that at least one of the priests at my home parish is rather a bit like him. At least on the coolness factor.

56. I LOVE YOU. That video was what got me into them too (well, that and realizing that Jared Leto played Hephaestion. XD). I'll be glad to help you on your way into fandom, while avoiding the craziness.

But a word to the wise, "bandom" (meaning the stuff most people mean when they refer to it, which is the Fall Out Boy/PatD side of things) is really not the place to look for 30STM stuff. I'm a huge 30STM fan, and most of the reason I left bandom is because it's not only full of the crazy, insane fans you mentioned, and teenyboppers who can't type for shit, it's also full of people (including a lot of the BNFs) who do nothing but bash them, just because apparently they think Jared is a douche (which is, by the way, not true at all, he was a sweetheart when I met him). All I wanted was good fic. -_-;

If you want good stuff, the 30STM communities are a good place to start. 30secondstomars is good for general band info, 30stm_picspam for all the pictures you could EVER WANT, and 30stm_slash is generally a good fic community with a refreshingly low amount of wank. As for author recs, felinemuse is one of my favorites in the fandom, and I believe she has written Jared/doppleganger!Jared once upon a time.

55) If people are calling you that merely because you like H/Hr, that's stupid. But if you're one of the vocal minority of H/Hr shippers who did things like:

* Claim that JKR had originally intended to do H/Hr, but then switched to R/Hr because she caved into pressure from the R/Hr fans and/or TPTB.

* Claim that the HP series could have been a literary masterpiece if it had been H/Hr.

* Analyzed the subtext of JKR's interviews in order to prove that what JKR meant was the opposite of what she was plainly saying.

If that's the case, well, if it walks like a duck...

Also, if you're one of the H/Hr shippers who called R/Hr shippers "illiterate" before HBP came out, I can only say that turnabout is fair-play.

63. I absolutely hate spoilers. At the same time, I can't help but think that if something has been out for nigh fouty years...you can't call it a spoiler anymore.
As an LotR book fan, it got really annoying. Yes, initially, I did squee over his cuteness, but by the time I saw the movie, I was really tired of it, especially since they traded in his fantastic slightly hyper-active, funny, arrogant self for a pretty boy with the personality of a block of wood. (Which is odd, because Orli seems like a fun guy. Lego-Orli-as was just...blah.) And it just got annoying, seeing purely movie-fannon everywhere. (Pet peeve--people commenting on my LotR art telling me it didn't look a thing like Orli/Billy Boyd/Elijah Wood/etc.)


85. Harder to be a BNF in bigger fandoms unless you're really freaking good or really freaking original/hilarious.
