(Anonymous) 2015-09-21 01:26 am (UTC)(link)I can easily see how it would become tiresome both for people who never really liked his take and for people who have other favorites, since he does get a lot of the spotlight.
Also, funny the same thing happened to me with the X-Men movies. Everyone rants about how tired they are about Jackman/Wolverine - yep, still my fave too.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-21 06:47 am (UTC)(link)Also, I actually don't think the Avengers movies are all that skewed to feature him. Maybe AoU is a bit, but I think it's mostly just that RDJ is so immensely charismatic that he draws the most attention in almost every scene he's in. In fact, before the first Avengers movie came out, I was sure it was going to be one big Tony Stark Show and was preemptively annoyed. But when I saw the movie, I remember being extremely impressed that Joss's script/directing resisted putting him too much in the spotlight.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-22 04:08 am (UTC)(link)http://www.vulture.com/2012/05/how-much-screen-time-does-each-avenger-get.html#
Turns out, Steve gets more screen time than Tony (though by a very narrow margin), and Natasha gets only slightly less screen time, but it's she who has the most unbroken dialogue scenes of all of them.
If you add up all the character's combined minutes of screen time, as estimated by this article, and then calculate what percentage of the
piemovie each character got, it looks like this:22% Steve
21% Tony
19% Natasha
16% Bruce
15% Thor
7% Hawkeye
That sure doesn't look like The Tony Show to me. Also, notably, it was Bruce/The Hulk - not Tony - whose lines seem to have gotten the biggest audience reaction.
Admittedly, this is one quick two-person observational study done for the purpose of fun, not science. It's not hard evidence of anything. However, it is somewhat less subjective and somewhat more data based than simply one or a bunch of people saying, "To me the movie seemed like this."
