What are some you've bought?

Brownie edges are the food of the gods. If you don't want the pan, I'll take it.

I gave it to my sister. She likes those terrible brownie edges.

Depends on the brownies. Sometimes the middles are too soft but other times the edges are too crunchy. I always need to judge on a case by case basis. Though with one of those trays at least you know the texture will probably be consistent all over.

We have the pineapple corer and it's great if you eat a lot of fresh pineapple.

Oh, that pan! I'd never buy it for myself because I prefer the middles, but I got one for my cousin, who loves edges.

Middle brownie is best brownie!

I have two hand crank pasta rollers.

One actually makes pasta, the other conditions and rolls out clay. In either case, one of the best tools I've got.

Least useful is probably this thing I have that zips rosemary off the stick. My hands work fine.

Wrong spot. :P

Useful: food processor, wok, mesh strainer

Useless: zester, garlic press ...although I didn't buy those myself, they were bought for me

I looooove my mechanical frother. But for just straight up useful I'd say food processor. My friend even used one to make gingerbread once, since she didn't have a mixer and that's not something you want to mix by hand.

Least useful? Probably a mechanical can opener. I prefer the handheld ones, especially for anything I have to drain. And I find they don't skip as much.

Most useful: lemon squeezer

Least useful: pricey Oxo can opener that didn't work; Oxo peeler that only peels in one direction.

Useful: A mini chopper. I live by this thing for chopping nuts and since I bake a lot it's the best thing ever.

Useless: Ice cream maker. When I use it, it's great. But it takes up a lot of room in the freezer or in storage. I got it as a freebie for signing up for something, so I don't feel too bad about it. The ice cream never came out right, but we would make sherbert or sorbets that were really good.

I love my ice cream machine! I just wouldn't call it useful, per se, because it's not something you really need or will use. It also helps that I have a chest freezer, so space isn't as much of an issue. I'm spoiled by homemade ice cream now, most commercial ice creams taste terrible to me. :(

I could never get the ice cream to come out right when I used my ice cream maker.

Now sorbet? I loved the fresh fruit ones I'd make, nothing like it.

useful - sodastream type carbonators

keurig is godawful

Then do what I do and use the make-your-own cup? Ta-da, no waste, unless you a liner in it.

And K-Cup machines are the best things ever.

A hand-held blender wand-thing, if you puree a lot of soups/sauces.

A good digital thermometer (I bought the kind with a long wire that you can poke into the roast in the oven and set it to beep at you when the food reaches target temperature.

A slow cooker.

Useful:

stick blender - fantastic for pureeing soups and big batches of spaghetti sauce!
food processor - something you don't use every day, but when you do use my god it makes the work go faster.
microplane zester - zesting citrus fruit is super easy and it also works great for parmesan

Useless:

bread machine - a nice toy if you're intimidated by the idea of baking bread, but it's bulky, it doesn't do as good of a job as making it by hand and if one little thing breaks it's totally useless.

Must useful: slow cooker

Least useful: the oven. I've not used it once.

Useless: Waffle maker. I get more use out of my jaffle press. Mini food processor. I need a bigger one, but we have one on order with our xmas hampers, so that's covered. Stone frypan. IT'S HEAVY!

Useful: Blender, kettle, small knife, strainer.
That's only a few but I could list more.

I would also add to the useful list all the rest of our strainers. We had a set of cheap ones but also two old-style Tupperware ones which we found on Ebay. These are styles that I grew up with and the best colanders ever!

And on the subject of Tupperware, though it's not a cheap brand, I still love it.
