was a result of being in a rush ...but

When I was at Walmart today, I left something I decided not to buy on a shelf rather than putting it back where it belongs. I am sorry, Walmart sales associates. I completely understand if you hate me and want me to step on a lego right now.

"Step on a lego" is an obnoxious phrase that needs to die.

Eh, it'e better than some alternatives. To me it's an odd little way to express hatred or anger towards someone without wishing serious harm on them.

Seriously though it comes across as incredibly entitled for someone to whine to a stranger not to use a phrase cause it annoys you. Like hell certain words and terms annoy me but I don't bitch every time someone uses them, Good God.

Not the OP, but I know I hate it because it makes whoever's saying it sound like a child. It's like they were trying for hyperbole and blew right past it into simply stupid.

This pretty much. It's like saying "Teeheehee! I'm mad, but I'm cute! Teehee!" Or in this case "I gave you reason to be mad at me, but aren't I cute lil babby!"

Or maybe its just a term someone may like to use, and they don't care if it grinds some random person's gears.

Because some people think fun words or phrases have usability meters that fill after a certain number of uses and at that point the word loses all meaning/entertainment value.

I used it half jokingly, and because me and my friends tend to use it as a joke in our friends circle. I didn't realize it bothered people.

This. I'm fairly easygoing about non-perishables. They don't take much time to sort out and put back. Meat or dairy, though? Grrrrrrr!

I would never do that with perishables or anything cold (even a can of soda). I still remember how much it used to piss me off when people do it. Like the joker who left meat in the PILLOW and interior decor aisle when I worked at Target.

Wow. That's terrible.

Yeah I was like "what even?" . Basic manners would say that you should at LEAST try to leave something cold in a cold place.

Otherwise its just wasted food.

Nope it was out plain as day.

As someone who once did presentation (tidying shelves), this is true. If it's still sealed, it can simply be returned to it's proper shelf.

Perishables will likely end up in the rubbish section out of caution.
