i really, really, REALLY wish that filmmakers would stop assuming that

WEIRD = CREEPY SEX STUFF

It doesn't have to and it makes so very sad every time I see that. I want to find the weirdest possible movies I can find, but they really don't have to have creepy sex stuff. That doesn't make your film "weird" and "innovative" if the stuff is there just to be "disruptive" or "challenge people's opinions." At that point, you're just being gross. There are so many so-called strange films I want to see, but I first have to do in-depth research to find out if it's just creepy things happening to people's bodies before I can watch it, and that inevitably lessens the impact of these movies that I would like to go into blind.

Agreed. This is why I'm so disappointed in bizarro fiction as a genre. There's so much potential for creativity, yet authors always default to "AND THEN SOMETHING WEEEEEIRD CAME OUT OF HER VAGINA LOL" and other nonsense along that lines. Bleh.

Related: I have nothing against space monsters and horror movie creatures looking vaguely like penises and vulvas, but it would have been nice with more variety. Just putting fangs between wrinkly skin folds and slapping spider legs on top makes me want to yawn.

We just got two kittens. A girl that's a good deal Siamese, and a boy that's predominantly Russian Blue. I really wanted to name them Sapphire and Steel. Instead, they are Boris and Natasha. Which is also good, but I really liked S&S.
