F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)

F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required.
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff. If you want me to link your thread up here, drop a link in the first comment!

I grew up watching the OT but I am sick and tired of the Prequel fans who doesn't respect your opinion on hating it. There are a lot of reasons why I hate it (especially how Lucas had many great ideas, but he just executed them terribly). My opinions are no different than this ask I've found on a blog I follow: http://amuseoffyre.tumblr.com/post/121983637200/i-know-this-is-a-can-of-worms-since-star-wars-can

Also, I'm this sick of the war between theatrical versions and special editions, when they're just the same movies, only altered a bit. It shouldn't ruin anyone's experience and people should watch them the same way others views LOTR theatrical and extended versions. I'm not anticipating The Force Awakens either, since I'm not a big Abrams fan (I might have prefered someone like Whedon, especially for the Prequels). I think it's time for me to hang up the gloves for this fandom.

It's funny that you are upset with Prequel fans for not respecting your opinion, then shit on original theatrical fans for having a different opinion than you.

I don't hate all the changes to the special editions, but the altered conversation with the Emperor in Empire Strikes Back, is just horrible in my opinion.

It's like saying Godzilla King of the Monsters and Gojira are the same movie, or Superman II Donner and Lester cuts, or Robotech or Macross... there's reasons why one might prefer one version over another.

LOTR on the other hand dosen't contradict the theatrical films, it just includes content cut for time.

I hadn't seen very many Prequel fans hating on non-fans. I've mostly seen the other way around and OT fans who talk about their opinion as fact and the Prequels as objectively bad. Honestly, I understand why some Prequel fans would be frustrated and angry about that and maybe project that onto a fan who isn't that. Not saying it is right, but I get it.
