I feel you on that one.

I'm not Roman Catholic, but I was raised generic Protestant Christian, and lately I am just... deeply uncomfortable sitting in church. It's awful seeing all of these people around me and thinking: "I don't belong here. If any of them knew, most of them would probably stop talking to me."

Doesn't hurt that so much emphasis is put on babies and getting married etc etc.

It especially hurts hearing my grandmother, aunt, and father spout hateful stuff about LGBT people. I can't even sit in the room when that's happening.

The even more ironic thing is - I'm not an atheist. I still believe in God. If there was a church I could attend, I would. But right now, the church as it stands is an unsafe place for me to be, and that makes me sad.
