F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)

F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required.
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff. If you want me to link your thread up here, drop a link in the first comment!

General:

Fandom-general:

To be fair, I thought season 3 was dreadful, but I've enjoyed it since. Season 3 I kind of watched out of obligation to one of my chief fandoms (Oz), but I cringed every step of the way. The Frozen arc, the Queen of Darkness arc, and so far the Dark Swan arc were all really interesting to me.

Not a huge fan of CaptainSwan, for me FrozenSwan is my OTP, though I doubt Emma will make another appearance in the show.

I liked the Frozen Arc and the Queen of Darkness arc. Season 2 was the weakest for me because they kept going back and forth on characterization. I enjoyed parts of season 3 in terms of character, but the actual plots (Neverland and Oz) not so much. I'm not enjoying Dark Swan so far, though. I don't think Morrison is pulling it off, so the acting is pulling me out of the show (plus that bleach blonde hair is horrible).

AYRT I think my biggest issue with season 2 is Regina's magic being treated as a drug/addiction thing that she needed to overcome, whereas in later seasons Magic has been considered something that has to be embraced, and possibly a metaphor for queerness.

Season 3, I did like some of the character stuff particularly Tinkerbelle, Pinocchio, and Ariel... but yeah the villain plots were just so painful.

I agree. Although, later on they had dark and light magic as seperate things rather than two uses of the same thing (which was weird).

I actually liked the idea of magic (or dark magic) as drug metaphor, but it could only work if they were consistent with it, and they weren't and then they just dropped it.

Oh I agree, Buffy had the same problem... first magic was good and a stand in for queerness then magic was a metaphor for Drugs.

Things just got more complicated in OUaT during the Frozen arc with the nature of magic being so personal to each individual magic user.
