F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)
Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.
Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required.
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.
That's about it, though!
I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff. If you want me to link your thread up here, drop a link in the first comment!

Re: New series debuts
(Anonymous) 2015-10-18 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)Agreed about religion. I liked what he said when he had Ellen Page on, which was basically "What I believe sounds crazy even to me, but I still believe it". That isn't something you normally hear religious people say, and it endeared him to me even more.
Plus, when Cruz was booed he asked his audience to stop. Despite not liking Cruz in the least I thought that was classy.
Stephen should sing and dance every episode! The tap-dancing he did was so entertaining, and he seemed genuinely good at it! I could've watched him do that for ten minutes, lol. His song with Jack Black was great, but I think I might've enjoyed the one with James Corden more.
Stephen is one of the celebs I would want to meet most. He seems like a chill dude that would be delightful to talk to.
I hope he gets to blab about Tolkien or Captain America at length at some point in the near future.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-19 12:06 am (UTC)(link)So true about him freely admitting that in regards to religion. I liked when he and Oprah discussed their favorite verses, and why they liked them-Stephen's had such a sweet reasoning behind it. I heard somewhere once that he taught Sunday school (don't know if he still does)-that'd be a fascinating class to sit in on, I'd imagine. I also like that he will call out the BS side of religion when necessary, too, and proves that you can have faith and religious beliefs without having to blindly follow or agree with every single thing your religion says or does.
Much respect for the Cruz thing. I don't agree with the guy, either, but I still want to hear what he has to say, and I wouldn't want people booing someone I did agree with, so... Fair's fair.
The tap dancing was adorable :D. Especially seeing how giddy he was about doing it, talking about it being a lifelong dream and all. His song with Corden was lovely, too, yes-and on that note, can I say how utterly refreshing it is to see the late night hosts being friendly and getting on well? I know that may not make for an attractive story for the media outlets who like to turn this stuff into a competition, but the whole "late night wars" thing got so ridiculous and petty after a while. I'm fine with these hosts just focusing on doing their thing with their respective shows and supporting each other.
He's on my "want to meet" list, too :). And yes to seeing him get all in depth on that stuff in the future. I'm not even overly familiar with those fandoms, but his passion for them always makes me want to learn more about them and other geeky stuff he likes :p.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-19 12:33 am (UTC)(link)Stephen's verse was cute! I had never heard it before but I liked it. Good sentiment, lol. I've read that Stephen was a Sunday school teacher too, though I doubt he has time for it these days. I think he's said as much in interviews before? He's always quoted the Bible quite frequently (and effortlessly) and despite not being incredibly religious myself, I respect that kind of dedication. That he believes while still being open minded and not discriminating against people is one of the reasons I like him so much.
Yea, I don't know much about Corden but he's been lovely to Stephen and vice versa. That's refreshing. The only kind of 'wars' I am here for are the 'wars' that went on between Jon and Stephen and Conan O'Brien. Stephen and Jimmy Fallon had some good moments together too, back on TCR.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-19 12:53 am (UTC)(link)(I'll never tire of jokes about Trump being an Oompa Loompa or his toupee, either. The guy is a comedian's dream in terms of joke material, really.)
I liked it, too, 'cause I can identify with his "need to learn not to worry" sentiment he shared :D. But yeah, exactly, I'm not very religious, either, but I respect people like him who know their stuff and who can engage in thoughtful discussion on that topic.
Hahahahaha, YES! Oh, I miss the Stewart/Colbert/O'Brien/Fallon stuff. They were so fun. That ice cream song...that entire episode...I was rolling with laughter.
I love that Jon's made a few appearances on Stephen's new show, too. Their friendship and support for each other is so adorable.
