He's pretty geeky on the new show too. There was the Elijah Wood episode where he starts out by promising not to talk about the Silmarillion and then Elijah just encourages him and they talk about the Silmarillion.

He could easily spend an hour talking about Tolkien. Now I want Stephen to have Vin Diesel on and them to geek out over Silm.

Yes, please. I love nerdy references to one thing in another thing. It makes me really happy. Colbert is so adorable when he's geeking out over Tolkien

He does it so, so often. He can't help himself. When Jon Stewart left The Daily Show he made an appearance and did an extended LOTR metaphor.

I actually said, "Awwwwwwwwww..." out loud at my TV during that whole segment :D. That was one of the sweetest and most adorable things ever. I love the way he can always make Jon blush and laugh :).
