No, fucking no. And please, for god's sake, no uniforms. I hate them and if there had been uniforms at my school, I'd have probably got in major trouble for never wearing one. The idea that someone can tell me what I must wear just disgusts me to hell and back.

idk, I grew up with uniforms (all school have uniforms where I live) and it never bothered me. it was actually a good thing, for a lot of kids, b/c there was never that competition with "what am I going to wear today", and none of the shame of wearing op shop clothes and hand-me-downs while other kids got to have cool stuff. because everyone wore the same stuff.

I grew up with them. Free dress days were a misery because it revealed just how awful and home sewn and dorky my clothing was. In the end I just said no to them. At least in uniforms no one could bully anyone else for what they were wearing.

Yeah. My friend was a scholarship student at this hoity toity prep school and she admitted to me that she was glad for the uniforms, because she felt bad enough about the rest of her cheap possessions already.

I grew up with uniforms too, though my high school was rather lax about it for the winter months. Never thought it was a big deal, and it probably made things easier for people like my friend.

I am guessing you don't have a job with a uniform.

Most jobs have dresscodes too...

Yep. I find hating uniforms and dress codes a bit illogical because they happen in the adult world. It's good for school kids to experience it in a controlled environment.

When I choose a job with a uniform, I choose it. But going to school is compulsory. So, no, not a good comparison.

Sure, jobs aren't "compulsory" but many people probably don't feel that way if the only positions they can find/are qualified for require uniforms. It's a slim difference.

How nice you won't ever be forced to do blue collar jobs. Or only as a passing stage on the way to white collar.

I am doing a blue collar job now and it does not require a uniform...

Maybe it's different for different countries, though.

There's also a lot of other things you don't get to choose during your school years. I'm rather philosophical about it now, as they're long behind me. I also didn't have a problem wearing a uniform when I was in school. (Australia has uniforms in all schools.)

You sound like a complete and utter brat, tbh.
