Are any of the TV shows you keep up with disappointing you?

(Anonymous) 2015-10-28 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Alternatively, are any really delighting you?

Castle – I gave up on it after the first two episodes of the season and I watched it from the start.

Scorpion – I can’t really complain about this show as I’ve given up taking it at all seriously and decided to treat it like the television show equivalent of crackfic about geniuses saving the world.

Grey’s Anatomy – Wow, Amelia seems even more obnoxious than ever before. The rest is okay, but I’m really not sure about this whole Penny thing (Is it just me or wouldn’t this be a hugely biasing thing for her residency training?)

Sleepy Hollow – Better than last season, not as good as the first.

Haven – I like Audrey, I like Nathan, but I’m not so sure I like them together any more – maybe if the writers could stop pushing the epic romance button so hard. I mean if either of them decides (yet again) that as long as the other is saved, they don’t care who else gets hurt, I will break something.

The Good Wife – I’ve been enjoying Alicia on her own and the investigator, Jason Crouse (Jeffery Dean Morgan), has interesting potential.

Everything else is sort of on an even keel for me, though Grimm and Elementary haven’t started yet, and Person of Interest won’t be on for quite a while.

Two that I'm happy with!

I am so happy with Gravity Falls atm. I love the Weirdmaggeddon, it's awesome. The visuals, the craziness, just fun.

Project Runway - I think this is one of the best seasons they've had so far. The finalists are all incredible designers, and they've been so creative this season. It's the first time that I actually care about who wins the finale go Kelly!

On the other hand, One Punch-man is kind of disappointing me. I found the manga so entertaining, and I can't put my finger on what's bothering me about the anime, but it's just not doing it for me.

Really? I'm the opposite on Runway. it isn't the worst, but the designers all seem so mediocre to me. I kind of like Candice, but she's like a weaker April copy. And I like Kelly okay, but she's still meh. I liked Ashley in the beginning, but she's gone way downhill.

Huh.
Well for one, at the end of the day it's all subjective. There are loads of times that I don't get why the judges go crazy over a certain design, so I guess that makes sense?

Ashley really has gone downhill, though. I hope she rallies for the finale. And until we see this week's ep, I'm not convinced they're not going to bring back Edmond. Idk, I've just been enjoying the season. Maybe it's my life in general atm, who knows.
You are right that when I really think of their designs, they don't have as many really memorable stuff from this season.

Fargo is delighting the hell out of me.

So is The Walking Dead. Though, if the one thing that happened did not happen, I will be PISSED!

You made it farther on Castle than me. I didn't even come back for the second half of the premiere's two-parter. I've also been watching since the beginning except for a few months break that I eventually caught up with in season 4.

Seriously, why did they think this direction was a good way to go? I stuck with it through the Castle-disappears-on-his-wedding-day and the frankly stupid story for why he was gone and why he couldn't remember and then they do this? Sigh. I guess there's always reruns.

I felt that too initially. I didn't like the premier. But I've loved every other episode of the season. The banter is back in a way I though has been missing for a while. Their chemistry is still there and is still interesting in some different ways. And Alexis has come into her own and is really shining. And Espo and Ryan are getting a great storyline. Really the only thing I want is more Laney.

I honestly think they just wanted a super angsty cliffhanger, realized "oh crap we actually need a story" and, well, yeah.

I'm actually enjoying Grey's again this season after really hating the past few season. The same with Castle and this season vs. last season.

Grinder is making me so happy. I watched the pilot thinking I'd hate it, but I love this show so much.

Supergirl, also was awesome. There were a few bits I didn't like, but it was mostly great.

Modern Family has been pretty meh this season but that has been true for a few seasons. I pretty much just watch for Mitch and Cam.

Grey's: I'm liking Edwards much better. I thought she and Wilson were the least interesting from their intern class, I still kind of think that about Wilson (I wish Brooks hadn't died, Murphy was still in the program, and Ross hadn't gone with Yang). Like I said, I'm not sure about the Penny thing, but I am liking Bailey finding her way as Chief of Surgery (though I wasn't wild about the salary thing). I am wondering about Meredith's kids though - there are three of them now and I don't think we've seen them this season.

Brooks and Ross were by far my favorites. Edwards was just boring. Wilson was and still is actively annoying.

I'm glad we're getting a Bailey storyline that is about her being awesome that is not about romance.

Yes, we should be seeing Meredith's kids more.

I'm not sure about Penny. Callie/Arizona is still my OTP, so I'm not rooting for Penny and Callie to last. But I am a bit intrigued by the storyline. As several characters said, they've all been where Penny is. Her failure being a main character doesn't change that.

I'm still missing Christina so much, but I haven't disliked this season as much as the last two seasons so far, so we'll see.

I lost interest in Modern Family when Gloria was pregnant again, so several seasons ago, although I've seen a few episodes here and there since and they've been okay.

I think Modern Family just lost a lot of its initial spark. I think I'd actually like it better if they shifted focus a bit to the kids as they get older, and made it more about following each generation or something.

It has been meh for a few seasons. I still like Cam and Mitchell, and I'm a bit invested in Mannie and Hayley. But it really has been not so good after the first couple of seasons. I just can't seem to quit.

Grey's is getting good again? I stopped a couple eps after the plane crash, with the weird all-over-the-place stuff and the new interns and hating how people (esp Callie) were treating Arizona after her disability. I'll admit, I loved Calzona (and I seem to be one of the few fans of the quasi-poly Mark-Callie-Arizona triangle that formed with Sophia involved), so seeing that really soured me, and I followed via spoilers by some Grey's communities and it just didn't sound like the Grey's that I'd loved. If it's going back to that, then I might just catch up, even if there's no Calzona.

I think I'm finally ready to give up on Agents of SHIELD! I probably should have done it ages ago, but now I'm finding myself wanting to fast-forward through large parts of the episode, which I'm sure is A Sign.

Yeah, I gave up on Agents of SHIELD after last season's finale. Didn't even try this season.

That season finale got me with the rock thing slurping up Simmons. I was so ready to quit then but had to figure out where that went. And it turned out the answer to that was nowhere!

(If I were still living close to my sister and nephews I would still be watching it, because they sort of hate it as much as I do but we also all screamed when that happened, so it's fun watching with them.)

Yeah, I'm not sure I'm going to last much longer on that one either. This week's ep about Simmons on the alien planet was pretty cool, but next week it'll be same old, same old again and I'm not feeling it. The show killed my love for Coulson and Daisy grates on my nerves, and there's no storyline I'm really excited about anymore.

I've been watching for Simmons & Fitz. And I like Bobbi.

Always and forever Downton Abbey. Two episodes and a Christmas Special to go until the end of the series and it's the same old uneventful drivel as always. I have absolutely given up hope that this show can still be redeemed in what little time it has left (and if only half of my predictions come true, it might even get worse).

I'm in the US and won't see the new season until January, but I don't mind spoilers and they were all over the place after episode 5 - I won't spoil it for you if you haven't seen it, but the episode where people reference 'Game of Thrones', 'Walking Dead', and Tarentino when talking about it, that's uneventful?

I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying Fresh Off the Boat. And I wonder if I should feel guilty about that, considering the show's deteriorated relationship with Eddie Huang.

Dr. Ken is a pretty old formula: part workplace sitcom, part family sitcom. Those often get retooled or die. Apparently I enjoy them, though, and I'm so far enjoying this one enough, even if it seems kind of old hat so far. Suzy Nakamura and Jonathan Slavin are so good in this, and it's nice to see them get bigger roles.

And I'm watching Agents of SHIELD again, after skipping the second season. I'm actually enjoying it? What's going on?!

The Big Bang Theory has been disappointing me lately. I can't stand any of the newer episodes and the way Sheldon treated Amy in the wake of their breakup made me want to throw my TV out the window.

On the other hand, Doctor Who has been a real treat and I'm eagerly awaiting all the new episodes. I also can't wait to see how Clara will go.
