Ughhhhhhh Focus on the Family. I remember reading their movie review magazines at my church growing up.

It always almost amused me to see how much reaching they would do to condemn anything in a Harry Potter movie.

It's like when I hear about that "One Million Moms" group. I just wonder what it must be like to have THAT much time on one's hands that they can fixate on stuff like that and get so bent out of shape over the most ridiculous things.

And considering Josh Duggar worked for them at one time, it makes their protest of "offensive" things all the more laughable and pathetic. I would not be surprised if we learned there were more people who worked in that organization who had a few nasty skeletons in their closets-that sort of thing generally happens with "holier-than-thou" types in the end.

I'll never forget the one Sunday school teacher who just flat out said that people who look really hard for "evil" things in children's fads are wasting their time.

She also said they needed something better to do with their lives. That made me so happy.

Especially as someone who was told by a Sunday School teacher at a previous church (we only visited one time thank God) why I was wrong for liking Pokemon because Pokemon were monsters and monsters were bad.

They definitely do. There's SO many legit problems out there to worry about instead.

As for the Pokémon thing...wow. Yeah, I wouldn't return to that church, either. I don't get how they don't seem to understand the concept of fiction, or using one's imagination. I can't imagine going through life taking everything THAT literally.

My fiancee has one of her e-mails signed up for, either, FotF or AFA , can't recall which... because they're always boycotting things, and if they're boycotting something, it's something my fiancee probably wants to support. :P
