Buffy: The Zeppo. I hate Xander, so any Xander focused episodes tend to bore me. And this one was especially dull.

Doctor Who: Tooth and Claw. I don't get why it is so popular.

Babylon 5: Most of the first season is pretty meh. Soul Hunter is particularly bad.

Game of Thrones: I actually quite disliked the first episode. It took me a while to get into the show because I disliked the premier so much.

Re: Tooth and Claw: it's popular because the Doctor and Rose clearly just did it for the first time after a lot of sexual tension and are being giggly and dumb together. Also, werewolves? People like those, I think.

I actually like werewolves. I just thought it was a poor example of them. And since I wasn't into Doctor/Rose at all, that part of the episode held no appeal (and I don't actually think they had sex). I can see why people like it, I just don't get why some talk about it as one of the best episodes. It just seems so badly written to me.

DA

Think about this ep in retrospect in terms of how the Doctor's disrespect of Queen Victoria (resulting in the creation of Torchwood) comes back to bite him in the ass at the end of S2 with Doomsday.

I really really REALLY wish there was a function on DW where I could choose to block the content of comments from named users in order to not ever have to see it.

Uh, wow, okay? Not sure what I said to bring this on? I was just giving my opinion and answering the question asked. Or does it offend you that I don't like a particular episode?

You know you don't have to read all comments right? Just scroll on by if you see a name you don't care for.

Easier said than done. When you're fluent in a language, you can't just prevent yourself from reading words that cross your field of vision.

When it's buried in a collapsed thread, yeah, I can see the username and where it is in the thread, and then be prepared to scroll past without reading after I expand the thread to read other peoples' opinions, but I wish there was something more complete and foolproof.

Still, you don't need to actually tell the person you want to ignore that. Rude much?

Venting about it in another thread without naming names is a far nicer way to do it.

Except most named users have icons and don't tend to switch them up. Just skip if you see the icon of a user you don't like.

So you want tumblr blacklisting functions on DW?

(Maybe you could just go back to tumblr, okay? Because there everyone always says the same thing all the time and you might never need accept that a particular individual could have opinions on a wide range of topics.)

OP

Nah, I really like different opinions. It's just that I could do without the comments of, say, two or three specific individuals I am familiar with and have learned over the course of years that I want nothing to do with them, because even when they post opinions that I am 100% in agreement with, they manage to irritate the shit out of me.

Also, tumblr is full of assholes that are even more obnoxious than the DW people I wish I could block, so that wouldn't work.

Well, on that, we are certainly in agreement.

Then don't comment. And scroll on by. Simple as, no matter what you think.
