It is no better or worse than any other form of sex and much depends on the skill of those involved. Always use proper lube though, and don't try to improvise with honey. For the love of god, why do so many first time analers try using honey? You guys know that goes on your medical record when you go to the ER for treatment, right?

What thread? I just work in an ER and regularly see first time analers who used honey as a lube. I can only assume it gets mentioned in some trashy romance series or something. It is always young het couples too, never the gays.

That is not the worst thing I've seen people try to use as lube. I've seen people who thought that hair conditioner would be a great idea who then ended up with a whole lot of irritation because that stuff was never intended to be in contact with mucosal membranes.

I love it tbh. I get off on anal sex+clitoral stimulation a lot faster than I do with PIV+clitoral stimulation and the orgasm is usually more intense (I still enjoy PIV sex a lot though). I mostly just stick to anal penetration while masturbating though since my boyfriend really doesn't like anal. There's only one thing I know for sure about anal sex, which is that not everyone needs an insane amount of prep, even on their first time.

I'm a sexually inexperienced (but fairly sexually knowledge) female, and every time I've tried using a vibe vaginally, it just hurts and feels too big, no matter what I do. But the first time I tried using my vibe anally, it was just fine. I was all set to do a lot of prep, but it ended up being totally unnecessary. Almost zero prep needed; just a decent amount of lube and there was no pain to speak of.

It seems like a lot more people need a lot of prep than people who don't, so for the love of god, DON'T assume you can skip the prep. But a lot of fanfic writers seem hellbent on the idea that, In The Name Of Realism, they HAVE to include a long prep scene before anal, and it's inevitable that the bottom is going to be in some pain the first time anyway. That's just not true.

If you want to write hot and ready, very-little-prep necessary, first time anal, I say go for it! Because speaking from experience, anal penetration really is just that easy for some people. However, it's probably a good idea to lampshade the skeptics disbelief by writing something about how unexpected it is for the top, who's just like, "Really? You're seriously ready for me? Just like that? Holy shit!"

I tried it, I can't get into it even though I'd like to. The feeling of getting stretched reminds me too much of going to the toilet, and I can't get the idea of my rectum tearing out of my head, even though I know it's extremely unlikely to happen. It's too bad because it can feel pretty intense in a nice way occasionally, but I can never really shake the discomfort entirely.

I'm a slash fan and I've gotta say, trying anal myself has cooled my interest in sex scenes featuring it quite a bit. I know it's just porn and I also know that there are people who thoroughly enjoy anal, unlike me, but now those scenes always remind me of unwanted sensations in my ass, lol.
