What are some things you wish fics were written for but haven't been able to find any of?

That Jessica Jones trailer made me want to go find comics fics for her. Only there basically are none. She's only a background in a few fics. And there are no Jones/Killgrave fics, which makes me sad because that trailer gave me so many creepy ship feels. I'm hoping the tv series eventually inspires some fics.

Having spent time in the Hobbit fandom where there was exploration of every facet of dwarf culture and all the minor dwarf characters, and especially familial relationships like Dis and her kids, I really wish there was that kind of thing for the Silmarillion (especially non-Feanorians and super minor/obscure characters). I really want some parent/child bonding fics set in the First Age that aren't about the Noldor.

Oh man, most of mine are stuff I want MORE of because there are only 1-2. Let's see.

Themes in General:
-Sugar Daddy Fics
-Actors being transported into their character's world
-Urban Fantasy that isn't steampunk-y or soulmark stuff
-Whump for various characters (Napoleon Solo, Clark Kent, Jason Todd)

Specific Fandoms
-More The Martian fic
-Jason Todd fic with PTSD/Depression elements

I feel like Martian fandom is gonna be prolific because there's already a/b/o fic. Usually a sign of activity to come.

Those fics where a couple of characters who are not yet dating meet their alternate selves who are dating should be more popular. I don't even care if the premise the fic author comes up with is ridiculous, I love those fics.

Soulmates where one dies and haunts the other as a ghost. They find out that without the connection of a living soul mate they would have never loved each other as expected. This leads to them investigating the whole sham of soulmates, the dead one moving on, and the living one finding someone they can be with happily.

Mostly just because I think that would be really cool.

Generally, there doesn't seem to be much smut about them, and from the movies I always got the vibe that she kinda likes it when he's dominant? I mean "it takes a lot more to get ME excited"? C'mon... nobody taking that bait?

Helix darkfic. Everyone loves AUs, especially fluffy ones and it is the worst. I want the fucked-up characters to be horrible people they are. This show has canonical brainwashing, domination scenarios of various kinds, incest, and so much dubcon. Why does the fandom ignore it aaaall?!

Valinorian politics.

I did read one fic, years ago, where after he got to Valinor Elrond has to live with watching a newly reborn Gil-Galad grow up and not make any missteps in how he treats him, since they used to be lovers. The story had implications in it about how the Noldor in general get treated by the other groups in Valinor.

There was another fic, a Hobbit one set in Valinor as well, but while the writer at first sounded like they were willing to play with politics a bit, they never came around to doing so and I got really bored of endless the endless series of domestic happenings without any of that hinted politics.

I want to know how the Vanyar and Teleri treat the Noldor in Valinor. How do Sindar who have come to Valinor since the First Age act towards the Noldor? How those groups groups view Finarfin, given that his mother is Vanyar and wife is Teleri. How do they act towards Nerdanel? Does Nerdanel have a social group of wives who stayed behind when their husbands and children ran off to Middle Earth? How are reborn/reincarnated Elves treated? Especially when some of the more questionable historic figures return to life? What about the people who sail in latter eras? How do they react to the political landscape of the Undying Lands?

I do not think Valinor is a perfect place and really do think it would be subject to it's own politics. I wish more writers would write about that.
