Uh, where does OP state that? They're just pointing out that they initially wanted to buy the book because of its creative team (presumably to support more female-led books) but they feel weird about now having another reason that you can't rattle off in polite company. Simple.

Less noble… as in, the commonly used phrase for prurient interests "less than noble intentions"? Take what you will from it, but I think it's just a fun way to say "KINKY INTERESTS".

So, with a limited budget my first impulse was "look into this because if I'm going to spend money I'd prefer to spend it in support of female creators" ... partly because I feel I'm less likely to get the Same Old Shit.

And then once I saw the art I was like, Oh yes, eye candy take my money now.

If the story turns out to be crap then I'll drop it.

I can see where AYRT is going with this. There's plenty of absolute drivel produced by women (as well as guys, obviously). Buying something shitty just because a woman made it is laughable.

Now if you want to support GOOD female creators? Awesome! We need more people actually paying for women's work. But if your only criteria is "a girl did it" I should start a Patreon immediately, I have MS-Paint and enough opinions for at least $5 a month and your standards are low.

Marjorie Liu is a good writer. I don't know the artist, but judging from the picture the OP used, I'd say she is good too. So I don't think it is a bad thing to want to support this work just because of the two of them being involved. Not that I would consider it "noble" exactly, but I would consider it a good thing.

Monstress is so good! And the first issue is triple-length for the normal price, so you get a great deal. I definitely recommend buying. It's about a girl with a mysterious connection to a giant ghostly monster, who lives in a world where humans and... um, inhumans for lack of a better term (I can't recall what they're called in the comic, but people with animal traits and supernatural traits) have warred with each other.
