(Anonymous) 2015-11-13 01:16 am (UTC)(link)Too many people already have a hard time figuring out that 'movie' does not always = 'reality' without having to figure out if the "this is a true story" at the beginning is real, or if the "work of fiction, any resemblance to living or dead is a coincidence" disclaimer at the end is true.
Basically, I am annoyed by truth labels that are actually NOT true.

It bothered me more in the beginning, but I still don't get why it 'needs' to be there.
Doesn't ruin the show for me, but IA, I would prefer it wasn't there.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-13 01:55 am (UTC)(link)Off topic, but I lived in London for a year. A receptionist there last spring, after hearing me talk for like all of fifteen seconds, asked if I was from Fargo. :( I didn't even think I had an accent back then lol. it's all thanks to that damn TV show I guess haha
What about the text at the beginning?
(Anonymous) 2015-11-13 01:43 am (UTC)(link)I mean, yeah, we know it's not a true story now, but there was no reason then not to believe it was set in Minnesota.

Still, having lived in the Maritimes for a couple years now, my own accent has a richer flavour to it than it used to. It used to just be a mix of Canadian, British, German, and South Carolinan; gods know what I sound like now with Maritimer mixed in there too ha ha.
But not Newfie! Not just Newfie! :D
