What media have you seen that portrayed monsters/demons/other things normally shown as evil as... not evil?

Conversely, what media have you seen that portrays normally "good" things AS evil?

Also, Santa Claus in Futurama.

The goblins in Labyrinth, who maybe aren't entirely friendly, but they're far too goofy and ineffectual to be villains.

idk, I can think of a lot of stuff that portrays dragons as positive, though. I wouldn't say they're quite that "normally" shown as evil...

Monsters/demons/other things as not-evil: Ahh! Real Monsters, Monsters Inc. & Monsters University, Pokemon (AFTER ALL--IT IS POCKET MONSTERS), Undertale.

Normally "good" things as evil: Santa in Futurama, Shattered Glass Transformers (SEEING OPTIMUS PRIME AS EVIL OKAY?)

Bad being good: The zombies in Warm Bodies. The ghosts in Harry Potter. The gargoyles in Gargoyles.

Good being bad: The Dark Elves in Thor 2 maybe? I guess for many people, angels are considered forces of good. So there are numerous examples of evil angels. Dogma, The Prophecy, Legion. Though most of that is angels fighting each other.

But in Scandinavian mythos Dark Elves (Svart Alfar, as opposed to Lios Alfar) are generally hostile to humans (when they bother us at all). So I can see this being applied to Elves generally, more or less (and so I will toss in the Elves from Hellboy II); but the Svart Alfar have always been viewed in a cautious light.

Hey, showing my age, but what about Cujo? Big cuddly Saint Bernard... :D Or I suppose the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, lol...

The Killer Unicorns stories, by Diana Peterfreund. The unicorns in them don't have the sapience to really be evil, but they're hyper-aggressive animals and encounters with them are almost always fatal.

Nightmare Before Christmas? I mean yeah some of them were evil but not all of them!

Order of the Stick had a paladin character who, while fulfilling all of the technical requirements for being Lawful Good, was in fact totally horrible and one of their more memorable villains.
