This, basically. I watched a bit over half and haven't went back because it was massively disappointing and I wasn't digging it at all. Having heard a bit about the ending, I'm not exactly inspired to complete it.

NGL, I only watched Hemlock Grove because of a f!s, but the first season was really entertaining despite the ridiculousness and the awful writing. S2 wasn't great but it wasn't a total loss. This season nearly is.

YOU GUYS HAD ONE FINAL SEASON, WHY DIDN'T YOU DO BETTER?!

They were too lazy to put any real effort into it.

If that's truly the case, that's sad.

I find it more likely they thought they were making good television. Not sure which is worse.

I know it feels like this is the reason, but honestly, I doubt it. The show's always been kind of shaky in terms of writing and plotting but season three went off the rails. My guess is that they wanted to end it with a bang but made a lot of poor judgment calls.

Exactly! When you only have one season and you KNOW it's going to be the final one, I just feel like there's this extra responsibility to make it good.

IA, if you know this is the end then make it a fantastic end! Give it all you've got! Not saying give the fans everything they want, but maybe take into consideration why they were attracted to the show in the first place and work from there.

I feel like TPTB probably did try, their judgement was just extremely poor.

Really, what they should've done was give the fans their Peter/Roman season. I'm not saying full on slash (though by all indications, fandom is totally down for that) but this was the season they ought to have been the team they set out to be in season 1. Friendship! Finding their telekinetic baby! More Shelly!

I'm not over it, obviously, but it could've been so much better than it was and it's a crying shame. I don't know how they could've screwed it up so badly.
