What are yours?

(Villains who later became good guys count too, as long as you also loved them during their villain phase.)

I remember how much I loved Maximillion Pegasus from Yu-Gi-Oh :D He was incomparable, and the Abridged Series made it even better.

I really love Pegasus as well. I just recently watched the anime and ugh, I love him. He's so much fun, but he's got quite a tragic side as well.

Ha, I love Pegasus. There's something really classy about him.

Vegeta. He was such an asshole and I LOVED IT.

Arthas. He was an awesomely tragic villain.

Walter White. His character development into a villain was great.

+1 Vegeta is the best.

The Borg, The Master/Missy, Bester (B5), G'Kar, Dukat

Genevive Aristide (FEAR 2), Sephiroth (FFVII), Makarov (COD MW2,3), Rorke (COD:Ghosts), Scar (TLK), Two Face/Harvey Dent (BtAS), Janitor (Scrubs).

And more, probably. I tend to like antagonists more than protagonists.

Londo from Babylon 5, just because he genuinely thought for the longest time he was actually being heroic as he did more and more horrible things. By the time he realized he was the villain you actually felt sorry for him as the horrible truth dawned.

And pre-Pah Wraith Dukat from DS9. He never quite reached the understanding he was a villain, but was such a cheerfully psychopathic one that it didn't matter that he was that deluded.

And Baron Greenback, obviously.

Azula. Boss ass bitch.

Count Fosco from The Woman In White. So stylish, so dastardly, so cunning and competent and intelligent, and so completely, completely fucking evil and creepy and awful. He is everything a villain should be.

It's a shame that most of the book is... not great, because the parts of it that are good are so fantastic.

Sauron is my favorite, hands down, though I love a lot of villains.

Other ones I like include The Master/Missy, Azula, Morden (Babylon 5), Morgoth, Smaug, Ronan (Guardians of the Galaxy), The Mayor (Buffy), Angelus, Lucius Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange, Voldemort, Palpatine, Darth Vader, Thrawn, Ysanna Isard, the Borg, and Gul Dukat.

Lavos from Chrono Trigger and the Homunculi in FMA:Brotherhood.

I really like how, regardless of personality, they instill a sense of dread on the player/viewer. Lavos is like an overwhelming presence in the entire game and it really seems like the characters are going against something they have no chance of winning against.

The homunculi are similar, they're just so beyond human capabilities I was scared for the characters that tried to take them on, but I also thought they were pretty brave to do it. I also like that even though they were much stronger than the regular human, they were still beatable if the weaker humans were smart enough.

I just like it when villains have a psychological effect on the world around them.

BOYD CROWDER!!! (Can't get more well spoken, charismatic or oddly lovable than Boyd from Justified.)

Revolver Ocelot (He counts, right? God even knows, he's double-crossed and triple crossed and I'm confused. Anyway, Metal Gear Solid.)

I wouldn't call Flemeth a villain but she IS an antagonist at times so I'm going to include her anyway because she's about the only Dragon Age antagonist who stands out for me and she's one of the more intriguing characters in the series.

Also Darth Vader and Darth Revan (I prefer Revan to turn light-side, but either way I just love Revan; I love the costume and the whole story and reveal) from Star Wars and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Frank Fontaine from BioShock. (You got me so good that first time, and even when I figured out the twist I couldn't hate him.)

GLaDOS from Portal. (Do I even need to explain?)

Hannibal from NBC Hannibal. (Mads is a good enough actor to pull all this horrific shit off without me hating him, and that's pretty impressive.)

Callisto from Xena. (One of my first favorites!)

I'm sure there's many, many more I'm forgetting.

Imhotep from The Mummy. He was my first crush (might have come slightly after or at the same time as Jareth from Labyrinth, but he's stuck in my mind more tbh), and when he died in The Mummy Returns I was inconsolable for hours (I was about 10 and very overdramatic), like I did not understand at all why he had to die. It wasn't a 'love to hate' thing, I was rooting for him the whole way through both movies.
