How do you start over?
(Anonymous) 2015-11-17 12:45 am (UTC)(link)Plan no work. Due to things, I am forced to abandon the plan halfway through. And... I don't know what I'm supposed to do now. Like now I have to start over from scratch, because everything I've done has been very specifically for this particular course of action, and figure out a whole new direction. And I just can't think of how to do it.
FML, man.

Re: How do you start over?
(Anonymous) 2015-11-17 12:56 am (UTC)(link)It's basically a lost cause. I have the option of saying I'll go back to it later, but the support network I had for it will most likely not be there anymore, so I dunno.
Re: How do you start over?
Well, it's worth a shot if you're really serious about it. At least try to obtain references and maybe pick up where you left off elsewhere?
I dunno. I had to put things on hold for 4 years and start over after an illness, so I know things can seem impossible, but sometimes it's not as difficult as you think to pick up where you left off.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-17 01:19 am (UTC)(link)Are you pretty well back on track now?
Re: How do you start over?
I hope everything works out for you, anon. It might seem like the end of the world, but who knows? Maybe not.
Re: How do you start over?
The first part is accepting that, distancing yourself from the original plan, and set things in motion to go on another course.
If you're the adventurous kind, it helps seeing this as a an unplanned adventure, or a blank slate in which you can paint again.
You might take the time to reinvent yourself - it's not necessarily, but it can actually help - new wardrobe, new hair, new friends.
Sometimes just trying or doing random stuff can help you figure out where you DO want to go.
Say yes to things. Especially things you haven't tried yet.
But it takes a while. Give yourself time. That's all I have.
