Eye doctor stuff!
(Anonymous) 2015-11-18 12:23 am (UTC)(link)I am on Dailies right now and they are pretty noticeable feeling. And I am blinking like crazy. They are not as good as the ones I tried to use two years ago but my eyes got worse so I can't use them. Hopefully it gets better.
Also, the doctor mentioned ICL surgery because I am not a good candidate for LASIK. Does anyone know anyone who has had this? Or had it done yourself?
Re: Eye doctor stuff!
Practice, practice, practice. That's the best advice as far as getting them in and out. I pretty much only wear them when traveling if I'm wearing sunglasses, otherwise I still prefer glasses (I work in front of computer all day)

(Anonymous) 2015-11-18 01:10 am (UTC)(link)I don't know that brand, but people with astigmatism usually wear more rigid contacts, so that might account for the more noticeable thing.
Good luck getting used to them. Personally, I'm way more comfortable with contacts than with glasses.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-18 02:38 am (UTC)(link)Agreed. For some reason, when I first got them, the optometrist had to stay with you and supervise you putting them in and taking them out for the first time. The poor woman who supervised me was DYING of boredom. I kept poking at the contact, poking at my eye. Oops, it fell out. Oops, I dropped it. Oops, oops, oops.
I got much better, just took a little practice. Hope it works out for you!

Re: Eye doctor stuff!
My astigmatism really messes with my depth perception and I could never get the same quality of vision with contacts as I did with glasses. Also, if my glasses get gross I can wipe them off, I hate having to fuck around with eyedrops and nonsense.
Taking them out and putting them in is really just repetition. I actually find it easier to do it by feel than looking in a mirror. Looking past my fingers at the mirror just made me more aware of the giant finger about to poke me in the eye and I couldn't handle it.
I don't know much about surgery, sorry. You could ask for a referral to the surgeon they recommend to talk about your options and discuss the procedure. They would probably be the best person to answer your questions.
Re: Eye doctor stuff!
And i would love to be able to wear contacts again. Sadly, the last time I tried (last year), they just would not stay put. Every time I blinked, they moved a little, thus fuzzing my vision. I just...isn't going to work for me anymore. (I used to wear contacts all the time. *sigh*)
Keep practicing, make sure and keep the them clean, and *don't* wear them for longer than the doc says. It's easy to over-wear and irritate your eyes, especially if you have really dry eyes. Good luck!
