I would adore a NIMH remake that sticks closer to the books.

Mostly because I like the book characterizations of the Frisby children better than the movie. especially Timothy being adorkable and nerdy.

And Racso/Isabella. God, I shipped that before I knew shipping was a thing.

Yes! I loved the books as the kid, so I could never like the movie. I'd love a faithful version.

I like the movies. But I just feel like there was so much left out or rearranged.

Also I feel like the movie oversimplified the whole 'science experiments" bit. In the books the scientists were actual nuanced characters. In the movies they're just 'evil humans being mean to animals because evil'. (The sequel took it to cartoonish degrees.But it was still kinda black and white in the original)

Oh man, me too! I loved the books as a kid. I am surprised there has not been one to be honest.

Yeah really. I guess everyone doesn't want to touch it because Secret of NIMH became such a cult classic. Maybe they felt they couldn't compete?
