On one hand, yeah, this person should stop being a hypocrite about YKINMK.

On the other hand, lumping BDSM in with gore and shota as kinks for people who enjoy "harming others" is questionable at best.

Plus you can easily flip the question around: would you be more skeeved out by someone who wants you to spank them or someone who wants to shit in your mouth?

The person OP is talking about sounds like a hypocrite but OP isn't doing a very good job of arguing why they shouldn't be, and calling them creepy in the exact opposite way instead.

I would guess because real life BDSM and written BDSM have to have about as much in common as... well.. romance novel sex and real sex? A lot of the BDSM erotica can go well beyond what ordinary humans could possibly enjoy, or just doesn't have the big disclaimer of "this is ALL PRETEND!"

Like having a story with a college student actually getting called into a professor's office for spanking and forced blowjob, not "GARY and JANE, TWO middle aged CONSENTING ADULTS are going to PRETEND that Jane is a college student and Gary is a college professor and they're going to CONSENT to play a scene where he spanks her! For pretend! Not actual skeezy abuse of power! PRETEND! It's a BDSM SCENE!"

I mean fics of 'these characters are into BDSM and do it somewhat realistically' do exist, but they're not the only ones in the genre.

Everybody has their squicks.

Fictional stories about shota or whatever are not actually harming anybody IRL (just as scat, etc. involves no real-life crap.)

But yeah, perhaps it's a good idea to keep your trap shut about your squicks unless you're asked what they are for an exchange so someone doesn't accidentally put pee in your story.

Ah, yes. Double standards are so fucking annoying.

Who is in your icon? I had a Mortal Kombat flashback lol it totally looks like the new Sub-Zero from the Legacy webseries at first glance.

Still Bucky, actually, when muzzled.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-22 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
So you'd be more wary of me, someone who'd want you to tie me to the bed and have your way with me, then someone who'd want you to guzzle their piss?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-22 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
NA - No, but I - someone with zero interest in watersports - would be more wary of someone who wanted to tie me down, hurt me, and get off on it, than I would be of someone who wanted to pee on me, or even wanted me to drink their pee. And I'd be a hell of a lot more wary of a sexual sadist than I would be of someone who wanted me to pee on them.

Look, I understand that there's a healthy, safe way to practice BDSM and I respect that. Many (most?) sexual sadists are NOT Christian Grey, getting off on hurting someone who doesn't want to be hurt. And when that's the case, I respect the kink-haver and their right to have that kink and not be judged for it. But if someone wants to hurt me sexually, knowing that I don't want them to, you bet I consider that worse than watersports.

If someone wants to hurt you when they know you don't want them to, that's not someone who's into BDSM. That's a rapist.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-22 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
tfw you want to tie someone down and pee on them

Well, anything involving excrement is a major do not want for me, but I have kinks that some people wouldn't be into either; I'm not going to call someone fucked up for that.

And I think it's really silly to be so judgmental and especially to go out of your way to insult people, but I wouldn't approach them about it. Life's too short for drama.

OP CLARIFYING

(Anonymous) 2015-11-22 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I shouldn't have used BDSM as the term for the kink in question - I'm sorry. I'm not very good with fetish terminology, but I meant smth less 'ooh let me tie you up and spank you' and more... genuinely abusive? Torture, beatings, questionable content at best. Think Christian Grey, but much, much worse and painful - to the point where you wonder how can this person laud it as romance.

Sorry if this all sounds kinda petty. I guess that's why it's a secret, haha...
