Kari/TK or Tai/Sora from Digimon was probably the first time I was invested in a ship. I was like, ten or eleven, and I think it was the first series where there were hints to certain ships, but they weren't necessarily realized (not at all, in Tai/Sora's case) so the first time I felt frustrated that the pairing I liked didn't turn out.

The first ships I like that I became involved in fandom for was probably Cloud/Aeris (FF7).

I still love those old ships, though now all my ships are gay. (first gay ship: Quatre/Trowa, or Tai/Matt upon a rewatch and realizing how much gay potential they had)

Right?! I still don't understand how they didn't end up together. ;-; Then again, I don't understand anything about the season 2 ending.

Considering we didn't see them with no partners but with children in the epilogue I just pretend they ended up together but we just didn't see them as a couple, what with Kari working during her scene. Just bad timing, really.
